I’m someone who enjoys learning by doing. Whether it is conducting research, organizing a social media campaign, or building my own website, I’m excited to try new things and see what works. This is a catalogue of all of my different experiences, and what I’ve learned from them.
CJSW 90.9 FM
CJSW has been a big part of my life ever since I started volunteering around 2018, and has really helped me grow as a person, starting by helping out at events, and going on to host my own show there. Prisoner’s Dilemma has been playing all types of music, from the ignorant to the erudite every Thursday from 11PM to Midnight. I had the incredible privilege of winning the dubiously titled CRABO 2023 award for best progamming in Metal or Similar Music, which is still one of my proudest achievements. This show is still a huge passion of mine, finding and sharing niche music with others will never get old.

Beltline Urban Mural Project (BUMP)
The opportunity to work at the Beltline Urban Mural Project (BUMP) over the the summer of 2022 was an amazing learning experience for me. Not only did I get to develop my skills in coordinating teams, and social media management, I also got to be part of an incredibly exciting art organization. Helping realize the BUMP festival’s social media goals was lots of fun, and the lessons I learned there still come in handy for me today.

Students In Communications / Faculty of Arts Student’s Association
During my time as an Undergraduate at the University of Calgary, I had the privilege of participating in a few different great student organizations. Starting as VP Internal for Student In Communications (SIC), and eventually becoming the VP of Events, as well as a Communications Director at the Faculty of Arts Student’s Association (FASA), I’ve worn many different hats. I’ve been involved in a lot of different projects and developed a lot of different skills. Be it coordinating team meetings, conducting interviews for our social media, or leading event development, these were great learning experiences, and I made many important connections there.

Academic
Communications is an exciting field to work in because of all of the different skills you can develop, from public speaking to video production. The chance to pursue my own research interests as part my Master’s degree at the University of Calgary’s department of Communication and Media has been very refreshing. It’s absolutely reinvigorated my passion for reading, and being given the responsibility of forging my own academic path has pushed me to write more adventurously.

Photography
Under the tutelage of both my mother and some Youtube tutorials, I’ve been learning about photography in fits and starts for years. Over that time I’ve taken some photos I’m very proud of, a few of which I’ve featured here.
